[Purpose]This study was carried out to evaluate the association between the severity of COVID-19and diaphragmatic function a year post-COVID-19.[Subject and Method]90 male patients (aged 40–50 years) with mild,moderate,and severe COVID-19 participated in the study. Diaphragmatic thickness and mobility were assessed using ultrasonography,along with pulmonary performance measures.[ Results]1year post-infection, left B-mode values were significantly higher in mild cases compared to moderate ones(p=0.019),and a significant difference was also found between moderate and severe cases(p =0.015).M-mode and MIP values were significantly higher in mild cases than in moderate and severe ones (p < 0.001),with no significant difference between the latter two. SGRQ scores were significantly higher in severe cases (p<0.001) .[conclusion] COVID-19 affects multiple vital organs,highlighting the need for diverse diagnostic methods to fully capture its effects. Although 'left B mode' may have limitations, diaphragmatic ultrasound offers a promising tool for monitoring recovery. This highlights the importance of comprehensive strategies to assess post-COVID effects and support targeted rehabilitation.
